Come and See: (Personal Experiences) (John 1:35-51) Here we encourage testimonies of building bridges to seekers, skeptics and outsiders in this initial phase of disciple making where we are sensing God’s workings in reaching people. Send us your answers to prayers for your family, neighbors, co-workers, and strangers. Tell us how God works to meet needs. We welcome submissions from visitors and newcomers who may be sensing God's love in their time among us. (We also want to guard the privacy of people and relationships, so feel free to change names as you share your story.)
Come and Be: (Being with Jesus) (Mark 3:14;John 15) The strength and fruitfulness of any disciple making movement is the disciple's own growing relationship with Christ through the grace of His Word and prayer. What has God been revealing about Himself and His Kingdom in your meditations and prayer life? Jesus also meets us in His Body. What has God been teaching you about Himself and His mission through corporate worship, teaching, and fellowship (ex. small group) experiences?
Come and Do: (Gospel Word and Deed - Team Ministries) (Mark 3:14,15;Luke 9,10) God has called us together to share the good news and to do good deeds as expressions of the gospel of grace. This stage of disciple making focuses on the lessons and testimonies of those in any team outreach ministry. This could include our Faith Urban Works ministries of Baltimore Christian School and Pen Lucy Action Network, or children’s and youth ministry outreach, outreach task force events, Covenant Group ministry or local and global missions. How is God encouraging you? What do you see God doing as your team shares the gospel through word and deeds?
Come and Go: (Multiplying Disciples- Mentoring Relationships) (Matthew 28:18-20; 2Tim 2:2) This critical sequence of disciple making focuses on the lessons and testimonies of disciple-making mentors and mentees (Paul & Timothy relationships). The process of equipping, encouraging and releasing emerging servant leaders to carry on the gospel work of reproducing other disciples includes one-on-one relationships or small group discipleship. (Covenant Group leaders building up new leaders, elders and deacons mentoring emerging leaders, women’s discipleship relationships, youth & children’s ministry leaders training up others, or lessons from other local and global mission relationships etc.) We want to learn from each other the best practices and lessons that we might grow together and stronger in our calling of making grace filled disciples to serve Pen Lucy, Baltimore and the world.
