Welcome!
As you may know, last year Don Rittler ran in the Baltimore Marathon for
the purpose of raising funds for Baltimore Christian School through donor
sponsorships. Not only did this result in significant donations for the
school, but it has also been the impetus for building a much larger team of
runners for this year’s Baltimore Running Festival on October 11, 2008, an
event we are calling the FUNd RUN. Please read through the Mission and Plan
and then consider joining us!
Mission
To raise awareness and funds for
Faith Urban Works
through participation in the Baltimore Running Festival as a part of the FUNd
RUN Team. Faith Urban Works
is the umbrella organization for the community ministries of
Faith Christian Fellowship, namely
Baltimore Christian School and
Pen Lucy Action Network.
Ultimately, the monies raised will allow these
ministries to have an even greater impact for Christ in the Pen Lucy and
greater Baltimore areas.
Plan
- To recruit a dedicated team of runners
- To offer training plans for each of the races
- To provide assistance, training and materials for soliciting donations
- To RUN either:
- the full Marathon -- 26.2 miles
- the half Marathon -- 13.1 miles
- the Marathon on a relay team -- four runners run 5.9 to 7.1 miles each
- the 5 K race -- 3.1 miles
- the Fun Run for children
- To celebrate the ministries of Faith Urban Works on Race Day with runners, families, and friends
