INTRODUCING THE
FCF WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP TEAM
Let us consider how we may spur one on toward love and good deeds. Hebrews 10:24

Scripture is full of pictures of how god uses women to encourage and spur each other on to grow in their relationship with him and to use their spiritual gifts to bless those around them.
He specifically calls older women to teach younger women (Titus 2:1-5) and uses younger women like mary to bless older ones, like Elizabeth.
The day to day work of disciplemaking and spiritual mothering or mentoring in the church occurs woman to woman, as church leaders delegate the day to day shepherding of women to older women in the faith.
At faith Christian fellowship, the women’s Leadership Team(appointed by the session) takes the lead to assure that women’s deep discipleship needs are met.
"The connecting of lives through serving in love is one of the most powerful aspects of the Christian community. This ‘close joining’ characterizes women’s friendships…. As the threads of lives are knit together, they become so interwoven that an environment of security is created. When fear is removed, there is freedom to serve. The security of the relationship becomes a safer place than the aloneness of the cave. The light of encouragement instills the courage and confidence a woman needs to come out of the cave. Then she can be equipped to use her spiritual gifts ‘for the common good,’ and the church is enriched." Susan Hunt, Spiritual Mothering, p. 121.
"We need to admit our need for one another. We have heard so much about being self-sufficient and independent that we are often afraid to admit a need for friendships with others… Women in various seasons and circumstances of life need to realize the value of their life experiences and share that perspective with one another. As women we also must recognize our marvelous capacity for creating an atmosphere of love and acceptance where a spirit of unity can be maintained…. The church of the Lord Jesus should not be robbed of this gift that women are so uniquely equipped to give." Susan Hunt and Peggy Hutcheson, Leadership for Women in the Church, p. 130.

* Facilitate mentoring and peer relationships (especially within covenant groups) between women for encouragement and spiritual development.
* Oversee organization of yearly women’s retreats and occasional large group women’s events (through subcommittees of other FCF women)

Linkages to FCF Leadership
The Women’s Leadership Team is the formal liaison group to the FCF leadership (the Session). The Session appoints women to this group and consults regularly with the WLT to gain the perspective of women on various issues facing the congregation.
Members of the WLT are available for any woman who needs to meet with pastors, elders, or deacons for any reason, and would like to have one or more WLT members present at such a meeting.
The Session sometimes requests members of the WLT to provide counseling to women with particular spiritual needs.
The Women’s Diaconal Committee, which includes at least one WLT member as a liaison, is appointed by the Session to work with the deacons to meet such diaconal needs as the Food Pantry, special food gifts to congregational and community members at holidays, organization of meals and other help for congregational members with special needs.
